Missed my train by 2 minutes the other night because I just HAD to chat with Annie Bartley of I Am Female about her fantastic work on the Female Founders Rise campaign.
Waiting an hour for the next train ⌚ Worth it.
I will never stop yelling about the power of networking...
But finding a networking vibe that suits you is 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠!
Female Founders Rise is a group of badass female founders (duh) who are ready to take on the world with their businesses. Solopreneurs, women-run agencies, tech start-ups, you name it, there is a woman behind it.
The panel at Female Founders Rise's 2nd birthday last night featured three businesses, all of whom played a part in the FFR campaign around London.
And I learned so much from each one...
📑 Clare Benson-Geddes of YeahNice - tackled this challenge with her team head-on and adapted when Emmie Faust steered her from an aggressive tone to a more positive, encouraging tone.
🫙 Eva Thorne of Garden of Eva - American-born (like me 😊), tired of the corporate world, took her love for southern traditions and turned it into a business she loves. She spoke about the power of perseverance, even during the lowest of lows.
💪 Annie Bartley of I Am Female - stopped traffic to get a picture with her billboard 🫢! She shared her experiences of being a queer woman in the industry (holla, fellow queer women 👋). And with only 1% of women owning creative agencies, Annie is an even more special AND NEEDED voice.
